Northgate Community Services Trust

Northgate Community Trust is the community arm of Northcity Church. Our aim is to provide practical Christian service to people and families in need particularly those that are disadvantaged.

We do this by providing the following services;

  • Community Health Clinic – every Friday during school term from 10 – 1pm this is run in conjunction with Belfast North Mediqual Doctors and Dr Annie Chen Green
  • Exercise Class for the elderly – Friday’s during school term 10 - 10.30am
    Low impact
  • Mainly Music – Friday’s 10.30 – 11.30am.
    Music and movement for pre school children, Cost $3 per family
  • Adult Literacy Classes – Monday 9.30 – 12pm and Wednesday’s 9 – 2.30pm. Run in conjunction with Hagley Adult Literacy Centre.
  • Healthy Lifestyles – 10 week program that empowers women to be more proactive, have fun, learn about their health and explore the possibilities of a more active lifestyle.
  • Simply Cooking – these cooking classes are held in term 2 & term 4 and run for four weeks. They are designed to help stretch the budget and provide tips on how to cook wholesome and economical meals.
  • Simply Gardening – course runs from July through to October and is designed to give you the skills needed to set up a vegetable garden. This is a practical course and hands on where possible.
  • Kids in the Kitchen Workshop – this is run in conjunction with Kidsfest during the July school holidays.
  • Op Shop – operates from Tuesday to Friday 10 – 4pm. Here you will find some amazing bargains in clothing, household goods and office equipment. This is run by Peter and Jessica Peseta.
  • Community Youth Worker – Tash Britt is our awesome youth worker who works at Casebrook Intermediate as part of the 24/7 youth program and is involved with other youth in the Papanui area through the Zion Dance Studios and Northcity youth work.
  • Budget Advice available
  • Foot Clinic – starting in Term 2 and will run during the Community Health Clinic. (more details to follow)
